John and Julia Hahn Memorial Education Scholarship

The John and Julia Hahn Memorial Education Scholarship is available to graduating seniors of Sheboygan South High School who intend to continue their studies in the field of education. Julia Hahn was a teacher in the Sheboygan Area School District for many years and  John W. Hahn was an educator and administrator who was the first principal of South High School. 
            
Students must attend Sheboygan South High School on a full time basis in order to be considered. Students enrolled in Charter school programs are not eligible to receive this scholarship. The Sheboygan Public Education Foundation administers the scholarship on behalf of the Hahn family. The Hahn family has established the criteria for this scholarship. The scholarship amount is $500. If the scholarship committee deems that there is not a worthy candidate to receive this award in any given year, the scholarship will not be awarded. There shall not be a restriction as to the number or value of other scholarships received by the applicant in order to accept this award. 

Criteria:
1) Member of the graduating class of Sheboygan South High School
2) Must attend Sheboygan South on a full time basis, not enrolled in Charter school classes 
3) Must attend a four year college or university that offers majors in education
4) Must be ranked in the upper 25% of their high school graduating class
5) Strength of overall application, including academic performance, personal essay, co-curricular involvement, letters of recommendation 
6) Financial need of applicant

Application Procedure:
1) Prepare SPEF Common Scholarship Application, including all necessary materials as indicated on the "Application Checklist"
2) Prepare John and Julia Hahn Memorial Scholarship application, including essay
3) Mail or drop off scholarship materials at the following address by April 8, 2013:
