 Scholarships

           

The Elizabeth J. Mc Ginness/Leila B. Hoaglin Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors of Sheboygan North High School to continue their education at an accredited college, university or technical college on a full time basis. Students must attend North High School on a full time basis in order to be considered. Students enrolled in Charter school or online programs are not eligible to receive this scholarship. The Sheboygan Public Education Foundation administers these scholarships. 

Scholarship Eligibility:
1) Member of Class of 2013 or past scholarship recipient
2) Attend Sheboygan North High School on a full time basis  
3) Ranked in the upper 1/3 of their graduating class
4) Record of leadership and participation in school activites
5) Active involvement in community activities
6) Financial need
7) Generally can be described as an “involved” and “good” student
                                   

The number of scholarship awards will be determined by the Trustee. Scholarship awards will vary based on available funding and the discretion of the committee. Each scholarship award is anticipated to be not less than $5,000.  The scholarships will be paid in two installments; the first installment upon satisfactory indication that enrollment has been undertaken, and the second installment to be paid at the commencement of the first semester and demonstration that school enrollment and attendance has been continued and that the first semester performance was at a passing level. Scholarships  may be renewed by an application process up to three successive times if the selection committee determines that the academic record in college and financial need is such to warrant continued support of the applicant. 
            
Application Procedure:
1. Prepare SPEF Common Scholarship Application, including all necessary materials as indicated on the "Application Checklist".
2. Prepare Elizabeth J. McGinness/Leila B. Hoaglin application, including essay.
3. Mail or drop off scholarship materials at the following address by April 8, 2013:
